How is this program different from the Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program?
The primary difference between the YMCA's Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring Program and the Heart Attack and Stroke Prevention Program is that BPSM is a 1-on-1 program and HASP is a group-based program. the HASP program incorporates all the content and goals of the BPSM program, but does so in a small group environment that with a trained facilitator. Groups will discuss additional topics such as physical activity, stress management and eating a low sodium diet.
