The State Alliance of Michigan YMCAs are proud to announce the 2021 Champions Award Recipients: The Honorable Thomas Albert, State Representative District 86 (Lowell)

The nine year partnership between the State Alliance and the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services continues for FY'22.  The State Alliance has received $500,000 to support YMCAs to deliver evidence based physical activity and healthy eating programs in schools, municipalities, and Y facilities.  Congratulations all! 

Michigan's recently passed state budget allocates $1.4 billion in federal COVID relief funds to help support child care providers, bring down costs and expand subsidies to another 105,000 Michigan families. Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist stopped by to visit with Alliance Chair Steve Meyer to learn about the great work of the Saginaw YMCA.  Steve's sustained advocacy for out of school time and water safety programs at the Y makes a difference.  Thanks Steve!
